Do you want to do all 13 or just 2 or 3? So many options!Β
First Stop On Our Donut Trail Tour – Mimi’s Donuts & Bakery
Since we were in town for two days, we visit five donut shops on the donut trail. We did three on Saturday and then two on Sunday! First up was Mimi’s Donuts & Bakery located 2267 Millville Ave. They have a pretty small store but it does have a little bit of seating if you want to eat your donut on site.
My favorite donut from here was their peanut butter + chocolate stuffed donut with crushed reese cups on top. I mean, how couldn’t that not be my favorite?
Second Stop On Our Donut Trail Tour – Kelly’s Bakery Donuts & More
Next on our list was Kelly’s Bakery located at 1335 Main St just a few miles down the road from Mimi’s Donuts & Bakery. This shop is in a little strip mall but the big sign and smell of deliciously fresh donuts will point you in the right direction.
This was the first place we had an apple fritter on the donut trail and wouldn’t be the last. Apple fritters are The Beard’s favorite donut and it’s definitely top 3 on my list. I mean it has fruit it in, so it’s a healthy donut.
At Kelly’s Bakery, we also has a peanut butter chocolate goodness donut and it was also SO yummy. They also had options like this fruity pebble one which was sweet, crunchy and yummy.
That slight smirk proves that he loves apple fritters. But, don’t worry he did share with me. He’s nice like that.
Third Stop On Our Donut Trail Tour – Jupiter Coffee & Donuts
Our third and final stop on the donut trail for our first day in Butler County was at Jupiter Coffee & Donuts. Oh look, another apple fritter! I will say that Jupiter Coffee was one of my favorite spots because they had espresso beverages in addition to amazing donuts. A lot of the other donut shops have coffee but it’s typical diner coffee which won’t caffeinate me enough for a day of family adventures.
Jupiter Coffee had a ton of options and probably the widest variety of pastries in addition to donuts. It was hard to pick from all of them because they all just looked so wonderful. But, I guess I didn’t need a half dozen donuts from each place.
Since we didn’t need to eat an apple fritter at each spot, I opted for the maple long-john filled with cream. It did not disappoint. I’m a sucker for anything maple, so this one was kind of a given for me to choose.
Get Those Donut Trail Passports Stamped
Don’t forget to get your donut trail passport stamped along the way so you can get your super cool t-shirt when you have visited all 13 stops!Β You may be so excited about your next stop that you forget to have the passport stamped. It really is a great souvenir and the t-shirt prize will provide bragging rights to your friends for years to come.
Fourth Stop On Our Donut Trail Tour – Stan The Donut Man
Day two of our donut trail was also pretty amazing and marvelous. Stan the Donut Man was probably my favorite donut shop. The ladies working were SO sweet and their selection of donuts was super awesome. It’s located at 7967 Cincinnati Dayton Rd in the West Chester area.
Look at all these twisty options – SO GOOD. And also, these prices? I can’t, $10 for a DOZEN. Columbus, take some notes please.
Let’s just discuss the fact that this is a pineapple fritter, not an apple fritter but a PINEAPPLE fritter. It is so good and I need a local option for this, stat. Also, this is a strawberry cake donut – YUM. Plus, these donut bags are my favorite.
Last Stop On Our Donut Trail Tour – Holtman’s Donuts
Our last stop on the donut trail was also a top choice for us! We have actually been to Holtman’s Donuts before, but not this location so it was great to see their new spot in West Chester.
They have really fun flavors like maple bacon and blueberry cake with cream cheese so it was hard to pick my favorites. The combined favorite at Holtman’s is actually the “dipping stick” which is like a glaze donut stick that’s kind of soft in the middle. DELISH.
