Cream cheese on a bagel is great. But, homemade whipped strawberry cream cheese is AMAZING! This 2 ingredient recipe is so easy and so delicious.
Ingredients for whipped strawberry cream cheese.
Well, this one is easy! Strawberry jam and cream cheese… that’s it. Here are a few of our recommendations for both the cream cheese and the strawberry jam.
- Strawberry Jam.
- We used one from our CSA in Columbus called Yellowbird Foodshed and it was delicious.
- I love Bonne Maman preserves and jam, it’s one of my absolute favorites and you can find it at most grocery stores in the US.
- If you want to be real fancy, you can make homemade strawberry jam. Here is a recipe from The Spiffy Cookie.
- But, even a classic Smucker’s will be great too!
- Cream Cheese.
- For this recipe, we used the Kirkland’s cream cheese from Costco.
- We definitely recommend the Organic Valley brand of cream cheese or Neufchatel (a little less fat!) which you can get at most major grocery stores.
The great thing about this super simple recipe is that you can swap out the jam for other flavored whipped cream cheese. You could do blackberry, cherry, fig, or even orange marmalade!
How to make the best whipped cream cheese.
This whipped cream cheese is seriously so simple to make, but there you need to do one thing first and foremost! You’ll need to let your cream cheese get to room temperature so it’s a bit softened when you mix it.
You can use a stand mixer or a hand mixer to actually whip the cream cheese. Either way works perfectly!
Once your cream cheese is softened, you’ll add it to the mixing bowl of your choice and then toss in your strawberry jam. I added about 1/2 cup of the jam, but you can add more or less depending on your flavor preference.
Then, using the whisk attachment, mix until it’s fluffy and perfect. It will take about 5-8 minutes. You can also watch the video below to see exactly how to make the best whipped strawberry cream cheese!
How to enjoy strawberry cream cheese.
There is no wrong way to enjoy this strawberry cream cheese. But, here are a few ways we suggest enjoying this delicious item.
- On a bagel. This is the most common way to enjoy whipped cream cheese. I recommend a slightly toasted plain or cinnamon bagel.
- On toast. I mean, just another way to enjoy this on a toasted carb.
- In French toast. I’m not personally a big fan of stuffed French toast but I know loads of people love that. Use this recipe here as inspiration.
We love breakfast in this household, so here are some other breakfast recipes that you might enjoy after you finish your whipped strawberry cream cheese.
- Puff Pastry Cinnamon Rolls. These are so delicious and super easy to make. You’ll just need to make sure you thaw your puff pastry dough while prepping these cinnamon rolls.
- Ham and Cheese Scones. I could eat these buttery and delicious scones every single day and be pleased.
- Freezer Friendly Breakfast Sandwiches. These are a staple in our freezer and super easy for busy mornings!
