“February 13th, Galentine’s Day, is about celebrating lady friends.” – Leslie Knope
I love Galentine’s Day and I love Leslie Knope. I’m about to fill this blog post with tons of reasons why you should be celebrating your lady friends, so buckle up. My lovely older sister and I host a Galentine’s Day party every year and it’s one of my favorite days of the year.
If you want to check out the previous two years Galentine’s Day parties, follow the links here and here!
First things first when hosting a Galentine’s Day party is to have all the cute decor. I used decorations from all the following places for this pink and very heart-centric decoration style.
- Amazon: we have a full section on our Amazon Storefront dedication to Galentine’s Day.
- Target: specifically the Dollar Spot about 3-4 weeks before Valentine’s Day.
- Celebrated: these lovely ladies gifted us this Rose All Day Party in a Box last year and we finally put it to good use.
- Etsy: we found our printable games on Etsy.
In 2018, we made vision boards, which was super cute and fun. But, this year we decided to have some passive “activities.” I know that might sound lame, but Galentine’s Day is a time when my sister and I get to bring all our friends from various places together and a lot of them don’t know each other! Fun little ice breakers like MASH definitely break the ice. Plus, who doesn’t like to feel like a silly 13 year old sometimes?
We also had a photo booth which was kind of a fail, but whatever, I tried. Next year, come hell or high water, I WILL have a legit photo booth. At least I had these cute props from Target.

Did I purchase O’s outfit months in advance? Yep. Was it $13 on Amazon? Sure was. I was in a sorority in college and every other weekend there was a themed party so you better believe I love a quality themed outfit. Honestly, I’ll throw a themed party just to showcase cute outfits, don’t even judge me. Lucky for me, my sister can french braid really well so O got extra fancy with an adorable hair style.
The flower crowns were from Celebrated and I’m slightly obsessed. I’ll definitely be keeping on hand for alll the summer events. More importantly, we need to talk about this cutie pie with O, Baby B. O doesn’t go to daycare and I don’t have many friends with fellow two year olds so she’s not around a lot of other kids her age. Well, that didn’t stop her from aggressively forcing her friendship on Baby B.
I like to think they knew the importance of Galentine’s Day, so their friendship blossomed under the occasion. Kids are cute, y’all.
It wouldn’t be proper party without snacks, duh! Last year, we had a waffle bar but decided to switch it up a little bit this year. I didn’t take pictures of all of the food because I kept getting distracted by all my lovely lady friends.
On the menu this year:
- Sparkling Pink Lemonade Cocktail
- Garlic & Jalapeno Stuffed Olives in a Blanket
- Crescent Wrapped Baked Brie
- Mac and Cheese Bar
- Firecracker Meatballs
Obviously, we also had dessert. These cookies are seriously my FAVORITE. They are from Sally’s Baking Addiction cookbook, which you can grab here. If you’ve ever had a Lofthouse cookie, they are a very similar homemade version and they are addicting and super easy to make. You can only find the recipe in her cookbook though, so make sure you snag one!
Lastly, like any good snacker, we also had some yogurt covered pretzels and candy lying around for ladies to much on while they chatted. I mean it’s not Galentine’s Day without a little bit of sugar.

Thanks so much for inviting me! Everything was delicious but I was in such deep conversations with Beth that I totally missed the games haha!
