We have a love for reading in our household which means we have bookshelves that are seriously over flowing. But, our favorite ones are our Priddy Books! Thank you to Moms Meet for gifting us these books for this blog post.
I love to read and always have. One of my favorite shows growing up was The Letter People on PBS and I think it instilled a love for reading and letters in me at a young age. No surprise I have a degree in English too.
Just as I found my love for reading at a young age, it’s important for me to give O that same passion. We’ve had a very stocked bookshelf since she was born… okay maybe even before she was born.
Priddy Books are a staple on that bookshelf! If you have kids or have ever bought a book for a kiddo or baby shower, chances are it’s been a Priddy Books.
Why Priddy Books?
They have a huge selection of books for babies and kiddos. You can browse them all here on Amazon. But, here are some of the reasons we love these books.
- They teach motor skills. With books like See, Touch, Feel, kids have a bit of sensory play with raised textures, finger trails, and even a shiny mirror to look into.
- They introduce first numbers. O literally counts to 100 when she reads this book which I think is pretty impressive. I doubt she’d be as interested if it wasn’t for the colorful and interactive First 100 Numbers book.
- They focus on speech and language. In Bright Baby: Touch and Feel Baby Animals, kiddos get to meet and feel all the cutest creatures in the animal king down from furry to feathery and big too small. The rhyming text and touch and feel textures makes this the perfect book for your kiddo to build their motor and vocabulary skills.
These books are also super affordable which gives another reason to purchase for your child and as a go-to gift for baby showers and birthdays.
Their “First 100” line of books starts at $5.99 per book or you can get a bundle for about $13. You can purchase those here on Amazon.
These books are also super durable and a great size which makes them a great book at home but also on the go. Since O was little, we’d toss the First 100 words book into her diaper bag just in case we needed a little entertainment. While you are at it, pack a DIY lunchable so you have snacks and story time!
Now that she is a little bit older, we’ll grab the My First Play and Learn Farm or Bright Baby: Touch and Feel Baby Animals books into my purse. They are interactive enough that she can entertain herself a bit if we are out and about and she needs a little distraction or entertainment that isn’t the iPad.
There are clearly so many reasons why Priddy Books are awesome, but overall I love that they have such a wide variety to help with children’s development. You can help your little one learn their colors, numbers, all about animals, or even instill a love for dinosaurs!
To finish this blog post, I’ll leave you with a darling quote from the founder of Priddy Books, Roger Priddy.
“One of the things I tell my team is that we have to remember that any one of the books we are working on could be the first book a child ever sees. Whether they learn their alphabet, start counting or even develop a lifelong love of dinosaurs β making a babyβs first ever book is quite something.β
