I love a good pancake house! You could call me Leslie Knope. The Lincoln Square Pancake House is a must visit spot in Indianapolis!
Lincoln Square Pancake House Location.
While visiting Indianapolis, we had to make sure we stopped at a delicious breakfast spot. I will say that we actually didn’t plan on visiting Lincoln Square Pancake House when we scheduled our trip.
But, I’m so glad it made our last minute list! They have 11 locations around Central Indiana.
- 11th Street
- 21st Street
- 56th Street
- Fortville
- Geist
- Greenfield
- Greenwood
- Irvington
- Meridian
- Westfield
We dined at the one just down the street from the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, the Meridian location.
We got to Lincoln Square Pancake House around 9am on a rainy Saturday morning and it was full but not totally packed yet. You can tell this is a place people visit on a regular basis, it just has that feeling in the air.
It’s a family run restaurant and has been since it opened in 1989. I knew I was going to like this place because they have unlimited refills on coffee.
Lincoln Square Pancake House Menu.
So, let’s talk about the food. These donut biscuit appetizers are unreal. They are fried biscuits sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with apple butter, also topped with powdered sugar.
I’ve never had something so delicious, simple, and unexpected. This is something I definitely want to recreate at home in Columbus.
The pancake pictured here is actually part of Olivia’s breakfast. Scroll to see her whole meal.
Our waitress really guided a lot of our decisions for breakfast and I’m glad she did because everything was great.
She was also so ridiculously kind and so sweet to Baby O. I wish I remembered her name because she really made our meal wonderful.
The Beard got their fried chicken and waffle which also had a dusting of powdered sugar. I’m just going to toss out a thank you to them for not making this some sort of weird hybrid of chicken and waffle and just serving plain ol’ deliciously crispy chicken with a fluffy waffle.
Also, that yummy topping is homemade blueberry butter. Amazing.
I think that might is definitely the winner of breakfast though. I ordered the Banana Bread French Toast (suggested by our waitress) and it was absolutely delicious.
It is banana bread dipped in French Toast batter topped with bananas, pecans, caramel sauce and cinnamon whipped butter. Decadent? Yep. Would I get it again? Absolutely.
Is Lincoln Square Pancake House kid friendly?
A resounding yes. They have loads of kid friendly options, the wait staff is kind and patient, and it’s not a super quiet place! There were families everywhere.
Her breakfast which I think was like $5 came with hashbrowns, eggs, bacon, and a whole darn pancake. Per usual, she enjoyed it all thoroughly.
The best tip for messy toddler eaters.
“That’s all mine?!” – what I imagine she’s thinking before sticking her hand in her butter on her pancake. Also, these little placemats are the best for dining out with your kiddos.
They stick to the table and easily come off for simple cleanup. We bought a bunch on Amazon ($9.95 for 60!) and just stick them in her diaper bag.
If you are in Central Indiana, we can’t recommend Lincoln Square Pancake House enough for breakfast! Fast, delicious, reasonably priced, and a super family friendly atmosphere. We can’t wait to try it again!
