You know I love our air fryer. It’s one of my favorite kitchen appliances and for good reason. Not only does it help create super crispy chicken, fish, fries, etc., it also makes these amazingly crispy brussels sprouts. To make this dish even better, I whipped up a super simple jalapeno dipping sauce to go with them. That’s optional, but definitely encouraged.
If you are not a fan of heat or spice, I would highly recommend removing the seeds from the jalapeno before preparing the dipping sauce. Also WASH YOUR HANDS after touching a jalapeno because nobody wants hot pepper juice in their eyes.
We got this mini food processor as a wedding gift and love it! It’s so compact and perfect for little sauces like this instead of having to get out the big one. If you don’t have one yet, I highly recommend this one, it’s never steered us wrong!
Alrighty, so the most annoying part of making brussels sprouts (in the air fryer or not) is chopping them. It’s definitely a little time-consuming but once you have a system, it’s super easy. You need the follow items to get a good flow – all very important in your mise en place.
- Sharp Knife
- Cutting Board
- Two Bowls
- one for discarded sprouts
- one for usable sprouts
If you have all those items, you’ll be set when prepping your brussels sprouts and won’t have to go grab another bowl or pause because you have to run over to the trash can. If there is one thing I can teach you all on our blog, it’s the importance of mise en place, setting up your work station before you get working.
Anyways, after you’ve prepped your soon to be air fryer brussels sprouts, you’ll add some olive oil and seasonings to them to add a little extra flavor. Then, just toss in your preheated air fryer and you are good to go!
I’ll admit to you right now that my favorite brussels sprouts are the super crispy little pieces that fall off of the whole sprout. I love them, especially dipped in this jalapeno dipping sauce. YUM.
