‘Tis the season for Easter Egg Hunts in Columbus, Ohio! We’ve rounded up NUMBER of FREE to the public egg hunts this year.

Easter is on Sunday, April 9, 2023 this year! If you are like us Worthington folks, that also marks the last day of Spring Break.

Growing up, I always LOVED Easter morning and hunting for my chocolate filled basket in the morning. I also had a ton of cousins, so we would typically do a big family Easter egg hunt with our crew where my extended family lives in Indiana.

If you don’t have a big ol’ crew of cousins or you just want to take advantage of some of these fun Easter egg hunts in the community, we’ve got you covered with a master list. Please note that while some of these events are free, some do have a fee which is noted in the description.

Underwater Egg Hunt

• April 2, 2023

• Bring a basket to collect floating and sinking eggs from the pool and exchange them for treats and toys. Enjoy open swim from 1-5 p.m. Parents are free. Registration required. $14/$7 resident rate.

Annual Easter Egg Dash Bexley Recreation

• Join us at the Jeffrey Park (Behind Jeffrey Mansion) for the annual Easter Egg Dash at 12:00 pm. Don’t be late as the over 4,000 eggs get picked up quickly. We will also have a handful of golden eggs hidden – find a golden egg and turn them in for a fun prize!

Worthington Bunny Hop

2023 Easter Egg Hunt – New California – Jerome Church

• PRE-REGISTRATION IS RECOMMENDED. The 2023 Easter Egg Hunt in New California sponsored by Jerome Church will be held on Sunday, April 2 at 3 pm at the Jerome Fire Station Park in New California. There will be thousands of eggs filled with candy and small toys, free visits with the Easter Bunny, and a separate egg-hunting area for our youngest participants. The Fire Department will be providing hot chocolate and coffee. Please include your child(ren)’s age(s) during registration to help us hide the eggs for each age group. Arrive before 3 pm to get your picture with the Easter Bunny and get set for a great hunt! We can’t wait to celebrate this fun tradition with you and your family!

Village of Galena Easter Egg Hunt

Easter Egg Hunt Grandview

• Join us for our Annual Eater Egg Hunt Presented by Pathways Financial Credit Union. At 10:00 am SHARP, we will count down for children in three age groups to hunt for eggs in the park. Visit with the Easter Bunny, enjoy a free cookie, donut, orange juice or coffee, and take home a craft.

Epic Egg Hunt for Teens

• This is not your traditional egg hunt! Participants (ages 11-15) will hunt for eggs that contain points inside, the participant will add their points to collect a prize at the end.

40th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Young’s Dairy

• Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023
• 2PM (ages 4 and under), 2:20PM (ages 5-7), 2:40PM (ages 8-10)
• As is our tradition, we will hard boil and dye more than 10,000 eggs for our Easter Egg Hunt. This event starts promptly at 2 PM for children ages 4 and under. At 2:20 PM we do it again for ages 5 to 7. At 2:40 PM we have the final hunt for ages 8 to 10. There is no charge for this fun event. We suggest you arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your age category, so you have time to find the line and get ready to go! Barnabe, our mascot, will be present, so bring your cameras and have your child’s picture taken with him for you to cherish for years to come. The Easter Egg Hunt is held rain (or snow!) or shine.

Hoppin’ Hound Hunt

Leashed dogs (no retractable leashes allowed, no exceptions) can collect treat-filled eggs including those with special prizes! The hunt begins at 11:00am and registration begins at 10:30am at the dog park within Rocky Fork Metro Park. Don’t forget your basket! The event will include a variety of pet-friendly booths as well as a photo booth for your pooch. A costume contest will be held after the Easter egg hunt with prizes for 1st and 2nd place. • Introducing our FIRST ANNUAL Altogether EggStravaganza. The Southwest Franklin Historical Society will have the buildings open for touring. The Century Village parking lot will be the site for a couple rows of trunks with treats, check in to grab your scavenger hunt card, and grab a “Peeps Roast” s’mores kit! Peeps Roast kits are $5 and the proceeds will go back to the Southwest Franklin Historical Society. There will be a couple of special guests for photo opportunities and the WhatTheFloat food truck will be available.
