Early December Conservatory Aglow nights bring extra value as Franklin Park Conservatory adds a public ice skating rink to the nighttime experience. This additional amenity is brought to you through generous support by Ahlum & Arbor Tree Preservation. The rink is synthetic ice, so will operate regardless of the outside temperature. Guests can bring their own skates, or borrow some from the on-site inventory. The Ahlum & Arbor Ice Rink is limited in capacity to about 60 guests skating at a time and will operate on a first come, first served basis.

Free trolley rides to various merchants and cultural institutions in Downtown Columbus will be available to the public on Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
This Downtown Holiday Trolley Hop offers participants unique holiday shopping options and fun activities for children. The event, in its 10th year, provides the perfect opportunity to champion small businesses and embrace the spirit of local shopping.
This year’s trolley hop promises an array of attractions, including live music, children’s crafts, steaming hot chocolate, scrumptious treats, and appearances by beloved Holiday characters.
New this year! A route to the Santa Extravaganza at the Lazarus Building and Shops at Common Thread on 3rd Street has been added. The route includes a stop at the Museum of Catholic Art & History, with State Auto’s nativity scene now displayed at St Joseph Cathedral at 212 E. Broad St. The hop has been extended to 6 p.m. so that participants have a chance to view the holiday lights display at the Columbus Commons.
This year’s hop has two starting locations: the Columbus Metropolitan Library Main Branch at 96 S. Grant Ave. and the Warehouse District at 256 E Neilston St. Parking is available at both locations. Additional parking is available at the Columbus Commons Garage, 55 E. Rich St.

Season of Celebrations is a new seasonal exhibit experience, starting on Friday, November 24, 2023, that will transform the museum into a winter wonderland, combining science, education and the festive spirit of the season. With a grand, 40-foot tree in the iconic COSI Atrium serving as the centerpiece, the experience will captivate visitors with enchanting decorations, 50 community-focused trees, 10 Classic COSI exhibit-themed trees along with specialty food & beverage.
The heart of this new experience will be the display of 50 community-focused trees. These trees will be beautifully decorated by local community organizations, schools and nonprofits, each telling a unique story and representing the rich tapestry of the Columbus community. Visitors can stroll through this forest of trees and learn about the organizations and their missions while enjoying the creativity and festive spirit of the adorned space. Throughout the building, every corner will be festooned with twinkling lights, garlands and other décor, including a complete seasonal transformation of COSI’s classic Progress exhibit. Guests can experience what the holidays were like for those living in both 1898 and 1962!
In addition to the visual spectacle, Season of Celebrations will feature a range of themed programming. This includes special science demonstrations and hands-on activities for kids and adults alike, all designed to engage guests in a unique exploration of the season and its ties to the world of science and technology.

The Dawes Arboretum is excited to announce the sixth annual Winter Wonders Walk 2023! This spectacular display of our grounds will take place on December 1, 2, 8, 9, 15 and 16 from 6 – 9pm. Explore the paved Parkwoods Trail, surrounded by illuminated trees and enjoy the beauty of nature in winter. There will be music, coffee, food trucks, and a special appearance from Santa Claus each night! Make sure to mark your calendars for the last night as Santa’s reindeer arrive to take him home to prepare for this holiday season. You won’t want to miss it!
Members can enjoy a Members Only night on November 30.

Old Worthington will host its 70th annual Holiday Open House on Sunday, November 26 (always the Sunday after Thanksgiving) from noon till 5:00 p.m. Bring the family to enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday season, including horse-drawn carriage rides, train rides, live music and a photo opportunity with Santa.

Stop by the Keystone Park next to Rebol on December 3 and 16 for your chance to take your free photo with Santa Claus and to drop your letters off at the North Pole mailboxes from 12-2 p.m.

The holiday season is just around the bend, and fun celebration plans are in place. Don’t miss holiday shopping, visits with Santa, live entertainment, the annual Christmas parade, tree lighting and much more.
The Grove City community is invited to celebrate a full weekend of holiday spirit at the Grove City Christmas Celebration and Mistletoe Market, 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2, in historic Town Center. Activities are sponsored by the City of Grove City and Heart of Grove City.
The celebration kicks off on Friday, Dec. 1st at 7 pm with the Christmas Parade.
The Town Center tree lighting with Santa, Mayor Stage and City Council members follows immediately after the parade, at Park Street & Broadway.
Photos with Santa, the Grove City Community parade, the Southwest Franklin County Historical Society Christmas Open Houses and more will be happening, watch for updates in the coming months.

A holiday dance mash-up for the whole family during hip hop’s 50th year! Directed and choreographed by Jennifer Weber, this contemporary dance spectacle is a re-mixed and re-imagined version of the classic, smashing hip hop dance and Tchaikovsky’s timeless music together into a heart-stirring and inspirational holiday event. The Hip Hop Nutcracker is brought to life by a powerhouse cast of a dozen all-star dancers, a DJ, a violinist, and MC Kurtis Blow, one of hip hop’s founding fathers, who opens the show with a short set.

The Huntington Holiday Train has delighted people of all ages since 1992. This downtown holiday treasure was generously loaned to Columbus Metropolitan Library by Huntington National Bank in 2009 and is displayed in Main Library’s Grand Atrium.
Bring your entire family to see the display with its trains, tracks, tunnels, bridges, castles and other features to delight visitors of all ages. On display at Main Libraryduring regular library hours Nov. 22 through Jan. 7, 2024.
