I love popcorn and I especially love chocolate and peppermint. What a novel idea to toss ’em all together! It’s festive, it’s delicious, and it’s super easy. Firstly, you’ll need to whip up some popcorn. I prefer to use my reusable silicone popcorn maker because it’s amazing. But, you’ll could use bagged popcorn too or even cook it on the stove. I don’t judge.
While your popcorn is popping away, make the chocolate glaze. I should also say that if you need to crush your peppermint, do that too. You’ll need the crushed peppermint to toss on the popcorn while the chocolate glaze is still warm and sticky for optimal deliciousness.
I used milk chocolate for this glaze because it’s what I had on hand. When I make this again, I’d probably use dark chocolate because I like the flavor better. I mean dark chocolate and peppermint is the best holiday flavor pairing. I will accept a rebuttal with gingerbread for a close second.
But, the actual best part of this recipe is the adorable serving bowl. Our friends over at Caskata gifted us this gorgeous winterberry serving bowl and i’m seriously in love. A little more about this small team of artisan makers.
“Caskata Tableware is Made in the USA. We decorate our creamy white porcelain and bone china wares by hand, in our studios in Medfield, Massachusetts. We take care with each piece, painstakingly wrapping our designs around our plates, bowls and gift items to create beautiful, unique compositions”
Everyone needs some beautiful tableware in their life. While I absolutely love their holiday items (we made cupcakes on them too!), I’m really looking forward to getting some of their Blue Lucy Octopus line. It’s amazing. You can purchase straight from their website or at boutiques across the country, check their website for a store near you.
Make a batch of chocolate peppermint popcorn, toss in this beautiful serving bowl and impress all your friends and family this year! Or hey, just sit at home and watch hallmark movies while you eat the whole batch. Again, I don’t judge.
