I love banana bread so much. We literally have three recipes for banana bread on the blog. Find those here, and right here. Sometimes I buy bananas and let them turn brown just to make banana bread. But, you can always have more recipes for banana bread. Right? That’s what I’m telling myself.
Plus, these are banana bread muffins with chocolate chips so it’s totally different.
Baby O won’t eat bananas in their whole form but you better believe she loves these muffins. She kept sneaking them off the counter when I was looking. While she prefers them as is, I love to slather warm butter on them – SO good.
Joel hates bananas in all forms, so luckily I only had to share these chocolate chip banana bread muffins with one family member. Well, two if you include Henry, our giant cat, trying to steal our muffins from us.
I wouldn’t argue that these are super healthy banana bread muffins but they aren’t super unhealthy. I mean, they do have fruit – so that’s good, right?

To make these delicious and super easy banana bread muffins, you’ll need some of the following equipment and ingredients!

Banana Bread Chocolate Chip Muffins
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 6 Tablespoons butter 3/4 stick, softened
- 2 eggs beaten
- 2 bananas mashed
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup or more chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon together. Set aside.
- Beat sugar and butter together in stand mixer until creamy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add eggs and banana to butter mixture. Beat until combined. Add vanilla and beat until combined.
- Fold in flour mixture, one cup at a time. Add chocolate chips, if desired.
- Scoop into lined muffin pan. Bake for 28-32 minutes.
- Serve warm with butter!
