These homemade air fryer tortilla pepperoni roll ups are incredibly easy and take just a few minutes! Plus, your kiddo can help prep them.
Why you need an air fryer.
I’m not usually one for gimmicky kitchen tools. Don’t get me started on the Instant Pot. I just can’t love it.
But, I LOVE my air fryer. We actually bought ours when O was a little baby. I snagged it for Joel from Williams Sonoma for Christmas. We have the Phillips brand and it’s incredible. It’s a little pricier than others but 100% worth it.
We’ve tried a few other brands but accidentally burnt a hole in one, so we went back to our trusty Phillips one. I’ve also really great things about the Ninja one so we might try that one next!
We use our air fryer every single day. Whether it’s for these amazingly delicious tortilla pepperoni rollups, chicken nuggets, Brussels sprouts, or literally anything – it gets its’ use in our household.
How to make tortilla pepperoni roll ups.
Making tortilla pepperoni roll ups in the air fryer couldn’t be easier. You just need a handful of ingredients.
- Taco size tortillas. Use small flour tortillas like these ones. These are meant to be little snacks, so you don’t want to use big tortillas.
- Mozzarella cheese. You could swap for a different cheese but I think mozzarella is the best here because it melts well and gets creamy. Shred it and sprinkle on the little tortilla.
- Pepperoni. Use cracker cut size pepperonis and layer 4-5 in with the shredded cheese.
- Toothpicks. Roll your little filled tortilla up and then use a wooden toothpick to keep it in place before placing in the air fryer.
When to enjoy air fryer pizza rolls.
Well, that answer is ANYTIME. But, actually these would be a perfect afternoon snack or on the weekends when you want something simple but substantial.
Bonus, kiddos can help make these! O at 3.5 was a little too young to do all the steps but she loved using the toothpick to stick in there to hold it together.
Can you make these pepperoni and cheese roll ups ahead of time?
So, we didn’t do this – we just made ours right away. But, I think you could absolutely prep these in the morning, especially if you have kids who are on their own after school before you get home.
I’d just prep them and store in the fridge, covered or in a closed container. We have these snap-lock containers and I love them so much.
I don’t know if these would freeze well but if you try it, please let us know in the comments!
