Okay, not to brag or anything BUT, I have avoided getting sick during the dreaded flu season for many years. I can’t even remember the last time I had more than just a slight sniffle. While some could call it luck, I think I call it prevention. Extra lucky for me, my friends over at Kroger have several flu season hacks so you can avoid any extra ickiness this year.
Our Kroger is awesome, especially when you need to stock up on anti-sickness items. Make sure you use their app while shopping because sometimes there is something on sale or a coupon on there! Maybe, it’s the Ohio in me but I love when I get a deal on something especially when I was planning on paying full price.
When I start to feel a tickle, I run to Kroger and pick up the essentials then get home to make myself a hot cup of tea. While my water is getting hot, in my old school tea kettle, I tend to clean up my kitchen aka sanitize everything. I really think that’s part of the reason I tend to not get sick, I’m constantly wiping down the counter, faucets, really anything that Baby O’s germy little hands have touched.
Pro tip: stock up on the Lipton Wellness boxes because they have a little bit of everything depending on your symptoms. They are made with carefully selected botanicals and blended with essential oils, helps make wellbeing a part of your everyday routine. I opted for the Daily Support because it is an excellent source of Vitamin C which helps support your body’s natural defenses*, to help keep me driving the healthy train.
Growing up, my mom always had a big box that sat on top of our fridge that had tons of tea in it so making a warm mug always gives me some fuzzy childhood feelings. Equally as much, she is always speaking to me about preventative health measures (surprise, she works in Healthcare) so I guess I could credit her with instilling the original flu season hacks into my brain.
Something that didn’t exist in my childhood, the Keurig! I’m actually super blown away with these Theraflu Power Pods Daytime Severe Cold because I think it’s so awesome you can get powerful relief without a prescription, by simply tossing a pod in your single serve coffee machine! Just as with your yummy Lipton tea, you can still clean and sanitize your house while it brews. These are available in Daytime Severe Cold or Nighttime Severe Cold, so it totally works for any schedule!
Last but not least in my flu season hack list, Kleenex® Lotion Tissues! Can we please just discuss how soft and nuzzly (it’s a word) these tissues are on a cold-ridden nose? They are super soothing, infused with pure aloe and Vitamin E that helps soothe any tender skin you might encounter during flu season. Kleenex is so dependable, especially when you need a little extra care.
So, do yourself a favor this flu season and get your healthy booty to your local Kroger and stock up on Lipton Wellness tea, Theraflu PowerPods, and Kleenex Lotion Tissues! You’ll thank yourself on that day you start to feel the dreaded tickle because you’ll just have to head into your cabinet to combat the ick.
