Decadent is one word to describe a beverage with an entire piece of pie in it, but delicious is another, appropriate word. The recipe for this pumpkin pie milkshake is just for one person but you can very easily doubled or tripled.
I’m not sure about you, but we always have leftover pumpkin pie at our holiday gatherings. It’s possible I might be the only one who loves pumpkin pie. But, now I have another way to utilize the leftovers!
I measured the pie by weight, about 4-5oz of pumpkin pie using our lovely kitchen scale. We have the Escali kitchen scale because Alton Brown says it’s the best. But, you could also just use like 1 1/2 cups of pumpkin pie for extra milkshake deliciousness.
A good milkshake is all about good ice cream. I love Velvet Ice Cream so we opted for their yummy dairy concoction. We actually visited the Velvet Ice Cream factory in the spring and it’s such a fun little family adventure. If you live in Ohio, you definitely need to make a visit! I used their original vanilla but you could totally swap for their Pure Cinnamon (so good) or even their seasonal Pumpkin Pie flavor. YUM.
Then, add some more pumpkin pie spice and whole milk in your blend and go to town. I’m not going to pretend that this has any healthy components to it but it’s delicious, so whatever. I have a Vitamix but it’s on the fritz right now, so I used our other option, this Ninja. I actually love this blender because it’s super easy to clean and super powerful to blend up the literal piece of pie. However, I’d really love for someone to create a blender that doesn’t sound like you are jackhammering in your kitchen. Sorry, neighbors.
Top your pumpkin pie milkshake with some homemade whipped cream and pumpkin pie spice and ta-da, dessert in a mug! I bought these glass mugs at Crate & Barrel and I’m a little obsessed. I went to Crate & Barrel the other day to pick up a wedding present for a friend and accidentally spent $50 on food props. Whoopsie.
