Since we work from home, an at home coffee bar is a necessity! We listed 10 essential things you need to set up an at home coffee bar so you can still enjoy your barista made drink but in the comfort of your sweatpants.
I might not be an expert on a lot of things. But, I am an expert at creating and using an at home coffee bar. I even share my daily coffee creation on Instagram using #BBDailyCoffee –> follow us here for inspiration!
I work from home and I have a strong affinity for coffee drinks. Since it doesn’t really make logical or financial sense for me to leave the comfort of my home to go to a coffee shop, I created the ultimate coffee bar at home!
This list has ten items (with multiple options and price points) that you will need to have so you can get your coffee fix without leaving the house.
If you don’t want to look through the whole list, we also linked every item here on our Amazon Storefront.
Also, scroll to the bottom of this post to find three of my favorite coffee beverages or “lattes” that you can make with your new setup.
(p.s. – a lot of these links are affiliate links meaning that you are helping to fuel my coffee addiction just by ordering from the link below!)
1) Cute At Home Coffee Bar Themed Decor
Decorations are a must, always! We luckily have a good area by our coffee bar for some cute decorations. You can usually find very on theme items from HomeGoods, Target, or World Market but here are the links to each of coffee decorations we have in our house.
- Coffee Makes Everything Possible Metal Sign ($8.99)
- But, First Coffee Wooden Sign ($9.99)
- Coffee Menu Metal Sign ($8.99)
- Coffee Mug Holder & Chalkboard ($49.95)
- I can’t find ours online, but this is a great option that I kinda want to purchase.
2) A Table/Cart/Bar
This is kinda of a given, right? You need something to put all your coffee bar needs on so they aren’t just sitting on the floor. That’d be weird. The first one listed here is what we have in our house but I tossed in a few additional options too.
- Two Door Accent Cabinet ($139.99)
- Console Cabinet with Drawers & Shelves ($169.99)
- Farmhouse Buffet Storage Cabinet ($184.18)
- Kitchen Island with a Shelf and Towel Rack ($93.49 – $139.80)
- 3-Tier Baker’s Rack ($85.99-$89.99)
3) All the Coffee Mugs
I have no shortage of coffee mugs in our household. I just can’t help myself when I find a cute one. I mean, I drink enough coffee that they all get their use! Here are a few cute coffee mugs under $10.
- Oh For Fox Sake Coffee Mug ($9.98)
- You’re Awesome, Keep That Shit Up ($9.99)
- Hello Pumpkin Orange Camping Mug ($9.95)
- I Like His Beard, I Like Her Butt Two Mugs ($9.99)
- Pretty Ceramic Mug with Gold Accents ($5.95)
4) Coffee Machine(s)
You’ll need these coffee machines to make your coffee at home, of course. We have a few different machines and each one has their purpose. You can still create coffee shop worthy beverages with any of these options.
- De’Longhi EC702 Espresso Machine ($219.95 – $279.99)
- Joel got this for me for our anniversary so I don’t have any pictures at the time of posting but will update when I have them!
- Nespresso Vertuo ($186.99)
- Keurig Single Cup + Coffee Pot ($175.95 – $229.00)
- Mr. Coffee 12 Cup Coffee Pot ($25.99)
- OXO Cold Brew Coffee Maker ($49.95)
5) Coffee.. Duh
Now, this is going to be dependent on what kind of machine you are using. Here are some of our recommendations for tasty coffee.
- Regular Coffee (for hot and cold brew):
- Stauf’s <– This is my favorite Columbus brand. You can ship anywhere in the USA.
- I love Caribou Coffee and really wish they were still here in Columbus.
- Nespresso Pods.
- Keurig coffee.
- We actually use this reusable k-cup because I hate the single use k-cups. This one is $9.95 for a 4-pack.
6) Syrups, Sauces, and Flavors
My favorite part! I’m definitely not a black coffee kinda gal. Well, unless it’s really delicious flavored coffee like Highlander Grog. Here are all my flavoring suggestions to stock your home coffee bar to look like a real barista.
- Torani Syrups.
- I only buy these syrups, specifically the sugar free ones. Other brands taste artificial to me. Don’t be sucked it by the cheap ones at HomeGoods, they are not yummy.
- We always have at least 3 in rotation, these are my favorites (all linked) – Hazelnut, Vanilla, Coconut, Raspberry, Pumpkin Pie, Peppermint.
- Also, I usually buy mine at World Market when they are 25% off in store but it’s COVID-19 right now so I’m opting for Amazon where they are a little bit more expensive.
- Syrup Pumps.
- Do not forget to buy these or you will be VERY sad. You can get them at World Market for like $4 or buy them here on Amazon ($6.21 for 2!).
- Torani Sauces
- These are different than syrups. These are the cute drizzle on top of your coffee from your barista. You can buy them at grocery stores but they are usually pretty pricey.
- Here are my favorite ones: dark chocolate, pumpkin pie, caramel. This link has all three sauces!
- They also do seasonal flavors like peppermint mocha!
7) Milk Frother
You NEED a milk frother to become a true at home barista! That’s how you can make a true latte and dabble in latte art. That’s my next coffee at home trend attempt for sure. Here are a few suggestions, including the one we have!
- Nespresso Milk Frother ($83.68)
- We have this one and I love it. It makes hot and cold milk froth which is a game changer.
- Nespresso Milk Frother with Handle and Spout ($119.95)
- Milk Frothing Pitcher ($12.95)
- This one is perfect if you have a steaming wand on your espresso machine. It’s what they use in coffee shops.
A few of our favorite homemade latte recipes.
While you should definitely follow us on Instagram (link here!) to enjoy our #BBDailyCoffee stories, here are some of our favorite coffee recipes on the blog right now.
- Pumpkin Hazelnut Latte. This latte is like pumpkin pie in a mug. It’s a little sweet but perfect for fall.
- Lucky Charms Latte. I love this latte so much. You make “cereal milk” out of Lucky Charms for a slightly sweet and definitely nostalgic latte.
- Apple Pie Latte. Another excellent fall coffee drink! The drizzle of caramel and sprinkle of cinnamon really take it over the edge of flavor.
- Raspberry Mocha Latte. I legit drink an iced version of this at least once a week. SO good.
- Boozy PSL. How do you make a pumpkin spice latte better? You add some alcohol. This is not for early mornings.
Abby
