Blackened salmon tacos have never been so delicious. This might be my new favorite Taco Tuesday recipe, especially with the fresh and beautiful mango salsa! This recipe came about for two great reasons.
- Our friends at Sitka Salmon Shares sent us this beautiful salmon and some other delicious fish options.
- We teamed up with some other bloggers to share some Earth Day recipes focused on sustainable food!
Let’s talk about number 1, first. Sitka Salmon Shares is a “CSF” or a Community Supported Fishery, similar to a CSA where folks can purchase a box of fresh fruits and veggies – but instead you get sustainable fish delivered to your front door! These fishermen are the real deal – read more about their history and business practices here and use code “TBTB19” for $25 off your order. Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to see all the Earth Day recipes today!
Actually, let’s keep talking about the salmon because it’s so amazing. It comes frozen straight to your door because well, it’s from Alaska and I don’t think that would make it totally fresh to Ohio. There are a few different ways to order a Sitka Salmon Share. You can get any of the following shares for a family of 2 (4-6lbs), 4 (8-12lbs), or 6 (12-18lbs) and pay monthly or in full to save a little bit.
- 4 Month Sitka Salmon Share ($109-$302/month)
- “The Original Share that started it all: a sampling of our highest-quality wild Alaskan salmon: Sitka Sound king, Sitka Sound coho, Deep Inlet keta and Kvichak River sockeye.
- 7 Month Premium Seafood Share ($129-$359/month)
- “A share filled with only the most regal of our sustainable harvest: wild Alaskan halibut, Line-Caught King Salmon, Copper River sockeye salmon, Sashimi-Grade Albacore tuna, Jumbo spot prawns, Dungeness crab and More!”
- 6 Month Seafood Sampler ($109-$302/month)
- “With 8 different species of wild salmon and whitefish from 6 different regions of Alaska, the 6-Month Seafood Sampler is for those who want to taste the best of what Alaska has to offer!”
- 4 Month Fall Seafood Sampler ($89-$247/month)
- “With 5 species of whitefish and three salmon, the Fall Seafood Sampler offers an amazing introduction to Alaskaβs sustainable catch.”
Don’t forget that with any of these shares, you can use code “TBTB19” for $25 off! That will come in handy when you want to whip up these amazing blackened salmon tacos!
Oh how I love mango salsa. Fresh chopped salsas like these are one of my favorite things to make. They are SO easy and can be easily swapped for other fruits depending on what you have on hand. We actually have a recipe for pineapple salsa that’s essentially the same as this one, grab it here. The base for this salsa is as follows:
- tomato
- red onion
- fruit & veggies like mango, pineapple, strawberry, jalapeno, or avocado
- cilantro
- citrus juice
You can eat this salsa straight from the bowl with chips or eat it on these easy salmon tacos. I suggest the latter, just saying.
Guys, like how beautiful is this salmon!? I’m not joking, it’s the prettiest and best tasting fish I’ve ever had at home or a restaurant. I’m generally picky about my seafood but now I’ve even pickier! Sitka Salmon Shares have opened my eyes even bigger to the importance of sustainable, fresh, and safe seafood. I highly suggest you head to their website to learn more about their fishing practices.
There you have it, another wonderful taco recipe to add to the blog! If you love these salmon tacos on The Beard and The Baker, you’ll probably love these ones too!

- Warm a cast iron skillet (preferably) with your olive oil over medium high heat. Once it's warm, add salmon skin side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side then remove from pan and set on cutting board, skin side up.
- Gently remove salmon skin then slice the blackened salmon into small pieces.
- Clean seasoning out of pan then warm tortillas in pan for 1 minute on each side to lightly toast.
